I have any problem on XOOPS installation.

- Install on local network is no problem
- Can't access my XOOPS from internet.
- Port 80 was blocked by ISP
- Used no-ip, and Port 80 change port 8080, but not work.

Please help me, how to install the XOOPS on virtual Server and diff. ports and use dynamic IP .

Thanks,

Ray Leung

Posting this question 3 times doesn't get it solved quicker. Please post your questions only once. Especially since this is the XOOPS forum, where support for XOOPS is given. Your question is not XOOPS but server config related.

If your provider blocks port 80 and 8080, it probably means it doesn't want you to run a webserver. No-ip.org also uses the 80 port, so that is bound to fail as well. I suggest putting your website on a webserver, or getting a new ISP.

Checkout www.dyndns.org. You can assign and port you want. Keep in mind you'll need to configure apache (Or whatever web server you're using) to listen on that port. If Apache is told to listen on port 80 and you have incoming on 8080, it won't respond because it's been told not to listen to that port.

I would like to add that you can't use port 8080 if you are using a linksys router. linksys uses port 8080 for something. try using port 12200 or something else, and it can be done through no-ip. I did it.
Hope this helps.
