Hi, i received the message i copied below and another(s?)
I havent ordered any mailing list and i just re-checked i have disabled all emails and notices from forum and admins, why did i start receive these?

Or is this some fake message imposing to be XOOPS sender?

I'm guessing seeing as I also received the said message (and another) after the XOOPS christmas message that a message list was created (at x-mas -at- xoops.org) and was left open so all replies will forward through to everyone on the original list. A tad annoying to say the least.

Upon checking the message from the XOOPS team I noticed the footer:

This message is sent to you by the XOOPS Core Team (www.xoops.org). It is NOT a SPAM message. You receive this e-mail as a registered member of the XOOPS.org community. This is a one time e-mail. Your e-mail address has not been disclosed to any third party.

It may well be a one time email but if the address accepts replies then it won't be will it?

indeed, specially when you deny all messages from anyone including admins ...

Think before spam is good policy, even if its good spirit xmas wishes...

I apologise for the bounces being sent to you. That was not supposed to happen. The X-mas message was a one-time-only message sent to the XOOPS>org members. You will not recieve any more messages if you have selected so in your profile.

Again, my apologies, and the bounced mails thing has been resolved, so you will not recieve any more of these messages

On that note, merry christmas

This bounce mail is still spewing into my email account. Despite the above post from Herko saying its resolved.

I am receiving bounce backs from delivery failures, autoresponders of other members on site, at the rate of around 50 approx and hour every hour, since receiving the original Xmas XOOPS message

I know this is a blunder and purley unintentional, but someone needs their arse kicked for this one. At this rate XOOPS could well find themselves and there machines IP on a RBL list.

Sorry, but this is really shit! I got one message and that`s ok, but a lot of mails is not fair, cause i get sms. Now i changed ´my adress. Not very clever!

i had the same, it was a little confusing but i did not panic prematurely. its over and things happen. i really liked the xmas greeting and want to thank all XOOPS core members for their outstanding work.

Yikes Serge, 50 messages an hour.

Mine stopped receiving after 6 messages.

I can see where that would be frustrating.

For what it's worth, I did think it was a pretty cool holiday email. Sorry it's causing your inbox headaches, Serge.

Hi Folks

Yes the actual Christmas message was AOK, and nice of them to send it, the rest of course aint so good

I am still receiving high volumes of bounce back, but it is decreasing, and I am sure will finall stop, after five days maybe, as some servers try to deliver up to this time.

One thing is for sure I will certainly remember this particular email address

I did not receive the christmas email from XOOPS at all. I have recieve occasional emails from XOOPS checked on my profile. I wonder why I didn't get the email but alot of you did, many times over?
