FORUM Popping up last post to top of the page?

Some users in my site had been complaining about the forum.
They are asking if its possible to pop up the last post in the forum to the top when the user click on the Recent Disscussion topic..

Can it?

The easiest way is to tell your users that when they view a forum thread, they will see a "Newest First" link at the top. If they click on this, the thread will be sorted with the most recent post at the top of the page, and the oldest at the bottom.

hm forum by default is in threaded mode..so there is no option for newest or latest post..

but when i switch to flat mode ..then i can see those option.

So how do i change those default mode to flat mode?

Change your forum default to flat mode by going into System admin > General Preferences and change the comments display view to flat. (This is for forums also) And then any user that wants to see the forums in flat mode have to edit their own accounts to see comments in flat mode.

You can edit user's comments display too if you need to.

hmm...
I changed my account settings to
-Flat
-newest first

but still it doesn't shows the newest post..
Is this a bug? I am running the latest XOOPS version
