Yes there are newsletter modules.
Maybe you can explain what you want to do exactly?

Personnaly, this is what I would really like :

- A newsletters that is sent automatically by XOOPS (without webmaster intervention)
- With a customizable frequency (weekly, dayly, etc...)
- It should contain all the new things since the last one was sent : new pictures, new articles, new downloads, new links, etc...

Has this already been developped? If yes, where can I download this fantastic module ?

Hi Marcan,
Two possible candidates are :
Ackbarr's Evennews
or PP-news.

I did not test this modules, so don't know exactly if it is what you are looking for.

We at the module dev team are working on an updated version of PP-NEWS to work with XOOPS 2.0.5+

This will just be a port at first and then we plan to add extra functionality to this module.

Yes! Thanks for the information. I am wondering, why Acbarr's Evennews is not given in the XOOPS core module. Newsletter archive is helpfull. I will check PP-news and let you know how it works.

If you extend PP-News, I'd would really like some system to have links to new contributions in other modules than the 4 that are proposed today.
Eg :
- weblog,
- quote4xoops,
- filemanagerM
I would love to have a simple way to make the newsletter take a new module in account.

I had a dream...

Has the core development team considered adding module hooks for a newsletter much the same way as they have for searching?

For example, you currently have a search hook so that any module can be searched by the core XOOPS search function if the module developer codes to the hook.

In the same way, you should develop a "new items" hook that every module can code to to provide new items into the newsletter so that it can be automatically generated. Of course this would require updates to modules to use the hook, but it would be ultrakewl. Seems like it would be a logical step though given your superb core implementation.

I'm sure you all have thought of that already, but just wanted to throw it out.
