Stumbled across this module at
http://linux.ohwada.net/modules/xfsection/article.php?title=xfsection

apparently seems by what I understand a bug fixed version, plus gave it a quick install and noticed possibely has a couple of extra features
though as the extras have no english language support a bit lost what they do
anyone pass on?

just on this
wondering if anyone can helpo with the "extra" features
think its a case of "importing" from your old wf-section
but can anyone confirm

it does install very well as a extra wf-section and seems to have the majority of fixes fixed

Well, they are using charset=EUC-JP. It is unicode.
What is their last statement mean with crying face?

Using a online translator it gets bit clearer

Function xoops section module
Version 1.02
Download xfsection
Support xoops forum
Its own cause
I wanted to simplify the handling of the existing HTML file.

It is the higher rank compatible module of wfsection.
The module name was changed in order to avoid confusion with wfsection.
since a module name can be changed easily -- a favorite name -- pleasing .

Please look at the following about wfsection.
http://wfsections.xoops2.com/
The contents of change
1. Handling of Existing HTML File
1.1 Taking in
The file below the specified directory is collectively taken in on an article table.
1.2 Display and Edit
2 items were added to the article table.
(1) nobr : it is a new-line at the time of a display.
It is alike and does not change.
(2) enaamp : it is about & at the time of edit. It changes into &.

2. Link in Title
To everything but "article.php?articleid=1"
The specification "article.php?title=abc" is possible.

3. Bug Fix
index.php:
can't jump at Path and local select box
submit.php:
_WFS_THANKS isn't defined
topten.php:
Top 10 in Popular isn't displayed
blocks/wfs_topics.php:
uncomment groupaccess.php
change xoops_wfs_categoryto to use xoopsDB->prefix

4. Make a change of a module name and a table name easy.
4.1 Definition File of Module Name and Table Name
The definition file was added so that a correction part might decrease.
Many files were corrected so that this file might be referred to.
4.2 Install the two or more same modules.
4.3 Change of File Name and Contents
The command which changes a file name and the contents was added.
4.4 Change of Module Name and Table Name

Or [ DEGURE since many files were changed ]

I would just like to add that I will NOT be supporting this 'fork' and for those who have decided to use it you may want to reconsider this move. I will NOT provide an update script for xf-Sections.

Yes I agree, that on the surface this may seem like a good move as with the fixes etc but I can tell you the wf-Section is definatly not 'old' nor is it not being developed now.

WF-Sections is and will for the forseeable future be developed and improved and I can assure you that the next release will show this.

Please bear with me on this one and you will not regret staying with WF.

I am the author of XFsection.

XFsectin is a hack version for myself.
I may avoid that I mix up orginal WFsection,
and so I change module name.
I don't have the ambition to make a module different to WFsection.

I distributed XFsectin to verification for Japanese.
It include no English documents.
And import.php display in Japanese only.

If WFsection accepts my hacks,
there is no reason in which XFsectin exists.
For that purpose,
it is necessary to translate into English.
However I am not good for English.
Therefore I don't start it now.

PS.
I did not know this discussion about XFsection.
I find here, from the access log of my WEB site.

I have been looking forward to trying out the WFSection module as well. I however have not seen anything yet. I did note that there was a warning that 1.01 had a serious flaw that people should not use it.

Sorry to hear about the health problems as well.

I release an English version of XFsection,
and open an English support site.

Please get it from here.
http://linux2.ohwada.net/modules/xfsection/article.php?articleid=2

I wish WFsection accepts my hacks.

that is great!
Can I rename the folder? You packed it as Xsection-103 can I rename it to Xsection and not cause any problems ?

Also how do you change the name of the link for a module in the main menu?

Just an update I installed the module version 1.03 and it seems to be missing this gifhttp://www.dnspad.com/modules/xfsection/images/xfs_slogo.gif
