go to system admin -> preferences -> general settings and set the news module as the startpage module.

Can you also tell me how I do the following things:
- insert my own logo to the top of the page?
- how I can make my own blocks with modules in it? Because I have now in the main menu all modules. That makes the main menu very large.

on your local drive go to themes/images and look for logo.gif or whatever. open it with a graphics program. overwrite by designing your own logo with graphics program.
i use fireworks.

go to system admin -> blocks then at bottom of blocks you can create your own blocks. also check out mod downloads for menu mod.

hope my instuctions are clear enough.

I have did that, but my logo is 234x60 pixel and when I put it in the directory where it belongs, the logo gets very small.(it shrinks)

And my main menu has grey buttons that was delivered in the XOOPS download. But when I want to make a new block, how can I remove the forum from the main menu and put it in the new block included the grey buttons that the main menu has.

For the logo size, you'll have to edit themes/default/theme.html. Look for the code containing the <{$xoops_imgurl}>logo.gif or something similar.

For the menu, do a search for the myMenu or iMenu module. That lets you create manu blocks on the fly. You can turn the menu itms of modules off in the modules administration (system admin -> modules), but setting the module weight to '0', this hides the modules in the mainmenu.

i am going to stay out of this one as my knowledge is limited, just follow Herko's instructions. but as a new user you should just spend a little more time familiarizing yourself with XOOPS admin, themes, and mods.

I have changed the theme.html in the size my logo is.(234x60) But when I upload the page, the logo stays shrinked. Even when I remove the banner from there.

Check out your general settings.

System Admin => General Settings.
Update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory? Should be yes s long as you are fiddling with themes.

Update also after every new themechange upload:
system admin: modules => system admin.

Grtz., Shine
