Hi,

I've tried sending some test mails to the some users through Mail Users Function in XOOPS admin panel, and I've tried sending mail as newsletter (HTML code). Mail gets through, but HTML code is displayed as code not as "web page". I've tried using PHP code [] instead of <> but that didn't work either.

Now my question is, when sending users an e-mail is it possible to use any HTML code and make nice newsletter (looking as website) os it's just plain tect that can be sent. Thanks ppl. :)

I'd say anything is possible, so I don't think this would be a problem, although I don't know the specifics of how. I use the PP-news newsletter module which lets the user specify wether they want plain text or HTML e-mails. As a rule of thumb I'd only send plain text e-mails as you can be sure that the end users will be able to read it as some users don't like HTML in e-mails.

I think the best (only?) way to do this is to send plain text as the 'body' of the email and send the HTML version as an 'alternate' body. The mailer used by XOOPS I believe supports this but I don't think the HTML aspect is currently being used.

Once it works though, you definitely use real HTML (< and >), not the 'bb code' square brackets.

I think there are some newsletter modules that will do what you want to do. Maybe some hacks to the admin mail users feature exist too... I'm not sure.

Finaly I've found PP-news module, but only French and German language is available. Anyone has English lang files for PP-news v1.5 or newer version of PP-news? Thanks.

Well I've found lag files now, installed it, tried it, but still can't send HTML news letter as I want. PP-news sends only titles of the news, downloads and so on.

I would need module or other way to send newsletter I've created myself. So the function would have to send that newsletter to users registered on my portal. How can i do that? Thanks.

Hi Klasika2
Did you try the PP news module or not?
If it 'works' then I will install it too and I will translate it.
