Wow, lost track with the newsmodule and version.
You are working on news 1.67 (which is really great!)

But I see topic:https://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=5578&com_id=55767&com_rootid=55765&#comment55767
and there is Xnews 1.69. (Wishcraft)
It seems there also another xnews module somebody else was working on.

Very confusing everything. Are these news modules not the same but with different namesand versions? And last but not least: are three different persons seperately solving bugs within 3 different news module versions?

Ok, so I tested with a new Xoops 2.5.5 and everything works.
Maybe the problem was the many modules I had installed.
The only problem I encounter is that pictures do not see when creating a pdf or when printing.

xNews is basically a fork of News, so there should be no confusion.

Our focus is right now on the News module, hoping that either:

a) we'll merge xNews features (plus AMS, and some other) back into News, or

b) replace News with the one being developed by Voltan (but he needs to make it clonable first)

But in general you're absolutely right - we need to get more rigid with names of modules. People should be able to fork module but they cannot use the same name because it is then confusing, unless their fork is being merged into the official module, like this is done with NewBB.

Yay, from now I'm not the only one asking every day about naming policy and versioning in XOOPS... probably there is sign of light that this anarchy (no)rule will changes :)

Hi,

I posted my question already over here.. (https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=75233&forum=4&post_id=347134#forumpost347134)

But i just saw this topic about a new release. Is this maybe possible to build in ?
Hi,

It's been a long time that i have bumbed on a issue in one of the xoops modules.
If you know the News 1.44 module, you know that visitors can view the hits on the frontpage. With a easy remove in the code they don't see it anymore.

But in the administration panel, admins that have the right to access it and post items it's still visible. Is it somehow possible to make this field only visible for some user groups only? So that a regular admin can post in the admin panel like normal, but just can't see the views/hits of the blogposts.

Only a user in a group can see it?

Is there someone that could help out with this. I would not hesitate to pay for this.

Kind regards,
Ace

I installed news module 1.67 www.diariodeandalucia.es my site and I would like to eliminate the option of "readings" but do not find where can you turn off as in previous versions?.

Thank you very much in advance.

You can delete this part it templates, but I am not aware that it's possible in Preferences. Was it done in a previous version? If yes, which version was it?

Mamba that's exactly what I want to delete.
and you're right, that was not available in previous versions of news module. that could be removed in the Xnews module, which was that I had previously mounted on my website.

Thank you very much, your help is greatly appreciated as always.

Did you ask to your Xoops Spanish support site?

EDIT : yes you did

So, maybe you can translate it yourself.

Take the folder "english" in News module, and rename it "spanish". Then translate the files inside.

Example for the file block.php :
line 14

replace
define("_MB_POSTER""Author");

with
define("_MB_POSTER""Autor");

Transifex can also help you, some files are already translated:

admin.php

block.php

main.php

modinfo.php

Off topic: Congratulations to Spain for the match of this evening
