Shoutbox 4.05 help needed

Could someone please help me out? All of a sudden I get this message resulting in my homepage not being available anymore. As soon as I uninstall shoutbox the problem has gone

Error : Smarty error: [in db:shoutbox_block.html line 15]: syntax error: unidentified token '#039;1'' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 1410)

Unfortunately get the same message as soon as I install the module. So that probably means something else is wrong?

try changing line 15 - 19 with this error I think it is having problems with the exclaimation mark:

That did not solve the problem. However, the module does install. To set the order to 0 I had to change that in the database. In the modules administration I can't change it. 2nd problem is that the block will not appear in the blocks admin. I tried to solve that too in the database but no luck. I modified the newblocks table, the block_module_link table and the weight of the shoutbox module in the module table. Any more suggestions?
edit:
I managed to have it show but that resulted in the error message again, so no solution yet. I also have upgraded to the latest xoops to see if that would help, no luck. Tried other versions of shoutbox, no luck. I hope you (or someone else) can help me out...

Indeed you have. the weird thing is, I had it running for months without a problem and all of a sudden things changed. well, looks like I will have to do without. I am going to set up a test site and see what happens. Thanks for the help wishcraft!

Have you tried clearing your template cache to see if maybe it has been corrupted?
