I've upgraded my system from Xoops 2.0.17 to 3.08 and system module version is 2.1... There seemed no problem with this

and have upgraded the newsbb module from 2.3 2.0.1 to 3.0.8

The recent topics block works fine, shows usernames as they should be, but the viewtopic.php.

When i click on a topic, the viewtopic.php shows all users as "Guest"s (2) and also the dropdown menus are shown static (1) as seen in the screenshot:

I'm confused about your numbers. They seem mixed up.
Did you update the modules system and newbb in admin module manager?

Hi ghia. Yes i had updated it in the admin module manager.

Let me make a little correction: I've restored the backup today and seen that the previous newbb was 2.0.1 not 2.3... Pardon me for that.

the issue you are having is looking like a template issue. that your site is using the old newbb template and not the updated cbb 3.08 templates. that sometimes happens when you are using a cloned template set, over riding the template through the theme, or some other reason.
