News not working - no text box

Just upgraded from 2.3 to 2.4.

The text box for the News posts has disappeared.

Joy and raputure...

I updated to the latest version of NEWS 1.64

This solved the problem, whatever it was.

What do you mean by that?

When I go to enter a news item, it shows

"Author's ID" (sixth line down)

Instead of the posters name.

If it is myself, it is no bother, but if I am editing someone elses post, it is a bit of a pain.

This is dependent on the value of config_max_users_list in /modules/news/config.php
Change it to be greater than the total of registered users on your site. However this may not be indefinite and 2000 may be a practical limit, while the default of 300 is most suitable and recommended.
