medical search module

I was just wondering, is there a module which could be used in the following way?

Imagine a directory of a thousand or more illnesses, each listing symptoms.

The perfect module would allow one to enter say 4 or 5 symptoms, and get an ordered result of the top ten likely illnesses in order of nearest match to the symptoms searched for.

Is there anything that could do this?

I don't any module able to do such things.
Have you thought about TAG module + another module ?

Hi sailjapan, I have created a module it is symptom directory. it is at the moment just post symptoms of diseases and browse by alphabets. if you think there should be some extra features let me know i will finish it and release it

hello, the module proposed by LadyHacker is so nice but I think it will be great if you can add for it extended search .
by the way did you try to use the dictionnary module?

Are there any pro module devs out there who could give me a quote on how much this would cost to develop? I'd release it to the community afterwards.

I think you have to set first what modifications you need to do, then you can contact dev to get a quote .
