Our forums on our website are currently not working. If you click on the forum link you get a blank page with "Error" in the top left corner of the page. I also cannot add any new blocks to put a warning out stating we are currently having issues. Our webmaster stepped down and so we are attempting to fix this on our own. Please help!

What's your URL? What version of XOOPS are you running and which forum module?

Our URL is www.vmoa.net. We are using XOOPS version 2.3.3. I am sorry I don't know what a fourm module is? This is the information I found under the forum settings:

I would suggest upgrading the forum module. I am currently running version 4 on that version of xoops, and it all works fine.

https://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=4476

Once you upgrade it *should* work again. YOU WILL NEED FRAMEWORKS ALSO, but I believe it came with the core, so you you're good to go just by overwriting the newbb directory and files in the module folder and hitting the update button in the admin area.

Hope that helps.

Use version 3.08.
4.0 is a release candidate intended for tests.

I only recommended 4.0 because it is the one version that I was able to get the rss feeds to work properly on with 2.3.3. It has been a release "candidate" for quite awhile now. I have been using it on 1 production site since November of last year, and I haven't found a bug with that version of XOOPS yet. However, I have seen a few problems with 4.0 on my test sites using other versions of xoops. I had to downgrade to 3.08 on 3.4.1... On the majority of my sites I don't use cbb at all... I am still waiting and hoping for a version that works properly. Forum modules are important. They are good for everything from community to support.

However, it would appear that this issue is solved, since the forums are back up on vmaxowners's site.
