Newbb vs CBB

Ok I am under the impression CBB is new version of Newbb.

However when I install CBB where the forums are supposed to be I just get a blue box with no forums?

What is the best forum solution? I originally had newbb installed but uninstalled it.

I am new to xoops.

Have you set up Categories and Forums in the module's admin page?

IMHO NewBB/CBB 3.08 is the best forum for XOOPS. (It is the one in use here on the XOOPS.org website.)

Yes I did set up the category | forum in the admin section.

Did you set the permissions for them (/modules/newbb/admin/admin_permissions.php)?
Did you see the welcome/forum is working post (/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=1&forum=1)?

As you can see under the blue the box something else is not right. I have the permissions @ 755

But Yes I do see the welcome post.

With permissions, I was not talking about directories, but about users, who may see, edit, post, ... to the listed categories and fora. Did you not follow the link from my post?

What is the version of your XOOPS and NewBB/CBB module?

It seems you have a theme/template issue. Switch to the default or zetagenesis theme. Verify the look of yours with the one here after selecting the right theme. (Do also once an update of the system and forum module)

Ok it works with defualt. It does not work with zetagenesis which was the theme I was using.

Do the file check (see release notes). Maybe some files are missing.
