Craziest thing Ive ever seen. I have just installed a fresh XOOPS site (for the 5th time)... It goes through complete install... my new site appears for a second & then it automatically goes to a 404 Page not found error! WHAT???

Do the fil check (see release notes) to verify all files are uploaded to the server.
Verify your definitions for the physical paths in mainfile.php
Did you follow all instructions for the install as eg special directories and their permissions?
Is /admin.php also reacting like that?

I went ahead & loaded the 2.0.18 version now & it works fine. Now... if I can just figure out how to upgrade to the current version...

I just cant figure why it redirects to a Page Cannot be Found error. I say to myself... What do you mean page cant be found?? It was right there!!!... if only for a second!
Have you ever heard of this before? Has other members encountered this problem??

Right now...I am in the process of re-installing XOOPS (again for the 4th time)... database & all.

I am thinking that I am doing something wrong but the site DOES come up for a second.

Check eventually Apache access and error log? I dont know how to do that.

They are in most cases available trough the site admin panel.
What is provided with your hosting?
