where are your xoops_data and xoops_lib directories?

Ok, those two directories need to be OUTSIDE root, as explained in the read-me...

Move xoop_lib and xoops_data to the same place as you see the public_html directory.

public_html
xoop_lib
xoops_data

Not

public_html/xoop_lib
public_html/xoops_data

Having done this, you will need to edit mainfile.php to show the new path of these two directories.

All this is explained in detail in the readme file that came with the upgrade.

I do that but after the upgrade the language looks like chinese...
The database have utf8_unicode_ci (i use the greek languge for my site)

How can i fix the language and the menous does not look good...
The upgrade destroyed the theme...

I think that the version has problem with greek language...
I have 6 sites in XOOPS and i have the same problem...!
I'll restore the database and i'll keep the old version...

For the update, check the character set of your database. Read also the paragraph of UTF-8 encoding in the release notes.
You need probably to adapt global.php .
