Can't upload files in Smartsection

Hey all

The Smartsection module is really givin me a hard time. I want to integrate some word-files into a article but it says that an error has occured. Have checked that the upload folders are set up correct, so at this point i have no idea what is going wrong.

Check the mime types for the documents. There are several, and maybe the one used is not included in the allowed types.
Verify also the size limits.
Any messages with debug on?

The mimetypes are set correctly. Its a *.doc i wanna upload. And the size limit is set pretty high, so shouldnt be that.

It just says when uploading:
A error occured while uploading a file: Failed uploading file ........doc

Tried to do different things to see if its works. Nothing works. Updated to 2.14 aswell, didnt have the effect i wanted. Trying to see if i can write to the authors of the module.

It could be a server restriction. Try another program that allows document uploads (e.g. CBB), and see if it works there.

Havent been able to get CBB to work. Any other module i can test it on?

Related Comment: Trabis has been working on a module called "Publisher" which aims to modernize "Smart Section". If this problem of yours ends up being something in Smart Section that doesn't work on your site, it might be worth trying Trabis's module.

Doesnt work with image manager, just go to a white screen when i press ok. Dont think that problem is related to the other problem though :)

I will try his addon and see how it goes :)

Were the upload folders, upoaded with the module or created by the module. If created, try once with deleting them and creating them manually (eg by FTP) and settting manually the permissions.

Other thing is to find the place in the program where the error occurs (try to find the text definition and the place where it is used) for determining which step in the upload process actually fails.
