xoopspoll 1.2 (for xoops 2.3.x) with CBB 3.08

Hi guys,

I've recently updated the xoopspoll module from v1.1 to the most recently released v1.2 (for XOOPS 2.3x). I'm running XOOPS 2.3.3 on PHP 5.2.8.

There's a few things that I've noticed and would like others either to confirm ny observations or tell me where I'm going wrong

1. It is possible to vote on expired polls
2. Anonymous viewers cannot see polls attached to CBB 3.08 Forum threads
3. I can't see where or how to set voting permissions by user-group (e.g. preventing anonymous users from voting)

Obviously, point 2 prevents point 3 but I suspect that this is more by accident than design

I've checked that the "Anonymous" User-Group has xoopspoll module access permissions and I've checked both modules' preferences/permissions. I can't see anything to help me.

Is this module the only poll module or is there something else I could try?

Hmmm..... seems I asked the same question almost 2 years ago without reply. Does this still count as a double post?

1. I think I read somewhere it is a bug.
2&3. Permissions for poll are included in the dropdown of the permissions from the forum.

Yeah, I read that too. It was a problem with xoopspoll 1.1 from which the current release is derived.

The only options are "Can start poll" and "can vote". If I remove the "can vote" permission then the poll does not show. I'm sure it's an unintended bug.

I want anonymous viewers to be able to see the poll but not to be able to vote unless they login.

The code has recently been updated for XOOPS 2.3.3 but it seems that some "quirks" came with it

IMHO, the module needs a little bit of attention on the admin/preferences side. The ability to deny anonymous voting whilst still displaying the poll is the obvious one (most poll/forums have this). This is also a stand-alone module, so more control would be desirable.

As stated above, it shouldn't be possible to vote on expired polls.

Want me to contact the developer who updated the code to point him/her to this thread and the "move to blue" push?

Just want to let you know, I just update(small bugfix and add russian language) similar module "umfrage"(Author:LupusC) which derive from xoopspoll and have many improvements to compare with xoopspoll.
