Getting templates to appear

Hi,

I've done a search and was surprised not to find answers to this strangely basic question.

I uploaded some templates (CommunityLive) to my GoDaddy hosted XOOPS site, I then selected this as the default and yet do not see the new template or any of the associated themes.

I've tried all the usual recommendations with clearing browser cache and cookies - even tried logging on as a new user from a completely different machine.

Anyone there willing to point me to a thread where this topic has already been addressed, give me a few tips or even take a look at my configuration?

were the templates designed for xoops, and what is "CommunityLive"?

I never use templates on that way - not since XOOP version 2.0.18.2. (I think)

Now - You are using the theme Zetagenesis
Thats placed in htdocs / themes / zetagenesis

Now create a new folder htdocs / themes / zetagenesis / modules

Copy the templates into the new folder.

For newbb it should look something like this:
htdocs / themes / zetagenesis / modules / newbb / newbb_thread.html


Xoops will always use templates located under the themename

Is this thread about "templates" or about "themes"?

They are not the same thing and it might be confusing for newer users to see the terms used interchangeably - this is bad practice in my view as it can create more confusion than it solves

Only themes coded for XOOPS will work with xoops. What is "Community Live"?

CommunityLive was just a XOOPS template (and corresponding themes) downloaded from a XOOPS themes/template site.

I'll look into the suggestion about manually copying the themes into a different directory.

OK - Just a bit slow here, but I'm seeing all kinds of templates in the system administration console, and I tried copying themes into the recommended directory, but I'm still missing something. I appear unable to change the template for this installation.

The admin user name and password are still open and I can share directory information if requested. Very grateful if you have a moment to point me in the right direction.

You have to update the modules or set the check for new templates preference.
