Hi, I want to put a banner after the first post of every thread. I edit newbb_item.html and insert this
<{if $topic_post.post_no == 1}>Mybanner<{/if}>
in it but it doesnt take any impact on the forum appearance. Maybe I am editing the wrong template?

PS the template set is clonned ofc and set as default.

Re: CBB template issue

I have a Google ad after the first post in each thread/topic, I placed it in newbb_thread.html

straight after this

<td colspan="2" class="odd">     <div class="comText"><{$topic_post.post_text}><{if $topic_post.post_no == 1}>

See how that goes

thanks this sounds right. I also have some problems with templates for cbb cos whatever I do I can't see changes. I tried to clear chache, tamplates_c, browser cache but get still the same. Other tamplates for modules can be edited alright. any ideas guys?

Do you go to admin > Preferences > General Settings

Check templates for modifications ?

If this option is enabled, modified templates will be automatically recompiled when they are displayed. You must turn this option off on a production site.

Select Yes

Then hit the "Go" button at the bottom of the page.

but as it says don't leave it on "Yes" change it back afterwards.

but isn't this going to replace other edited templates by their original ones? not good

Honestly I am not sure, maybe someone else can answer that, I didn't think it did, though I have no experience with that scenario.

my newbb doesn't seem to be updating even after i enabled the "Check templates for modifications ?" in the admin.

I even tested replacing one of the template with "xxx" and the forum still shows up fine ! how is that so?

Re: CBB template issue

Here's the original FAQ I got it from, forgot about this

How do I include adsense in newBB or CBB?

Update CBB module?

Clear caches?

i have no idea.

Tried many ways, doesn't seem to make changes to the cbb.

- check theme and template used
- cleared smarty cache
- update module
- tried damaging the newbb template but still nothing happens.
