Can't put adsense into the banner system

Joy of joys, I have had my adsense application approved and I can now get rich really quick ;)

Unfortunately, my site doesn't like adsense.

I tried adding the code to RW Banner, and the site seized up, slowing to the pace of an ageing snail.

So I tried adding it to the default banner system, only to be faced with a message telling me the server was unavailable. The same happened when I used a custom block.

Unless I can find a solution, my plans to buy a luxury yacht will have to be put on hold.

I have previously had problems with other javascript codes. What could the problem be? Will I just have to manually add the code into the theme?

i have the same problems (line break in javascript code). you can use an adserver ala openx to handle adsense in your site or write the adsense code direct in your templates.

I have just taken a look at openx, and I think I will give it a try.

can u give me a quick run down of the whole adsense deal... i know everyone has it but does it really make any money

putting it in a custom block is alright for me. you've got to enable html.

to munky2020: do you really doubt it? do you think xoops.org put those ads just for fun? if comparing my site statistics with the statistics of xoops.org I bet they earn over 4,000 USD a month which is heeell good for a free website.

let's imagine you have 2,000 visits a day which is 2.000*30 = 60.000 visits a month. let's say the average pageviews/visit is 4, so you've got 60.000*4=240.000 pageviews a month. let's say your website CTR is around 10% (my website's one) and the average pay per click is 0.15 USD. So you have 240.000/10*0.15=3600 USD per month which is additional 43.200 dollars a year...hmm here goes your question...does it make any money?

I wish, we could make even 10% of what you think we do.

hmm guys you need to optimize it xoops.org is alexa 50,000 and doin 400 usd a month..that's not serious =))

and that's for the website that only has around 140 visitors a day (only about 16.000 pageviews a month).
