How do I import files - news?

We publish news online and are looking to switch to XOOPS for a CMS, but we have thousands of pages (php) that we need to import. Is there a hack for this? Or a module? I need to know ASAP as I have to switch servers by Feb. 5th.

Are these articles in a database or are there 1000+ php files?
What export possibilities are present?
