Hello,

I have just started a new website and I can't seem to get any calender module working on my site.
I tryed Pical xCal and several more.

I hear good thing about extcal.
So I upload and install the module and it looks okay but... when i try to work over the options they all stay blanc.
The only option I can use is prefferences.
When I enable the bugmode and I klik on one of the tabs I get this error:

Warning: main(/modules/extcal/class/ExtcalPersistableObjectHandler.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in file /modules/extcal/class/cat.php line 32

and

Warning: main() [function.include]: Failed opening '/modules/extcal/class/ExtcalPersistableObjectHandler.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in file /modules/extcal/class/cat.php line 32

I don't really know what to do with those messages.
What can I do to get it up and running.

Please can someone help.

Best regards Jeroen

It appears that not all of the extcal files uploaded to your server correctly. Check to see if '/modules/extcal/class/ExtcalPersistableObjectHandler.php' actually exists on your server. If not, then I'd recommend re-uploading the module again.

thanx for your reaction zyspec

When I upload the module it's all good, no files with errors or files that could not upload.
The file you are refering to is uploaded ad on the right place.
"modules/extcal/class/ExtcalPersistableObjectHandler.php"

Any suggestions?

regards Jeroen

Hi,

is there a reason to use extcal 2.04?

Current version is 2.2.2 - you may check http://www.zoullou.net/ or download it from here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=177145&package_id=204161

..

Thanx Stefan for your reply.
But I have a dutch module. (I'm from the Netherlands)
I did try 2.2.2 but had the same effect.

I have a feeling that it has something to do with the system module or website or something cause I can't get any Calender moduler to run. (I tryed pical, Xcal, and several more)

Anyone?

My problem is solved.

Apperently my server or system module is capital indipendent.
When I saw the error messages I looked for the file and at first I thougt "its there, why does he not see it" then I notist that the file it was trying to open was something like "baseObjectHandler.php" the File I saw was called "baseobjecthandler.php"
I said "no that can't be it" but I tryed it anyway.
I renamed the file and unbelivable but true it worked.

Does anyone know how to make my system not depending on capital letters?

I'm not sure you can do this... But maybe your problem is somewhere else - in the software you use to upload the files. The original file in archive is with small and capital letters, so maybe the program change it when uploading. Check the settigs there...

It is dependent on the operating system of the server: Linux treat filenames different if the names are spelled with different upper or lower case characters and Windows doesn't care.
Probably the module was developed in a Windows environment.
