newbb 3.08 does not come with POLL feature?

You need to install the xoopspoll module for that :)
I used to use this account, but no longer.

ok. I just installed newbb (CBB) which has a poll.php file that apparently generates the polls for the forum. However, when i click on the new poll button on the forum, it looks like a normal post to me.

ok. so i check the forum index and it said XOOPS Poll Module not available.

so I go download and install xoopspoll. and I still don't see the options for creating a poll within the forum. (tho there is the poll link on the main menu.).

What am I missing?

You have to install the XOOPSPOLL module.
When you start a new poll, you must first fill in a regular forum post (explaining the purpose of the poll) and after that you can assign the choice fields.
