From what I understand of his post, he changed
safe_mode = On
in his php.ini file (or with .htaccess) to
safe_mode = Off

Mine show safe_mode - off in both places.

I'm not sure how the .htaccess route would work though. Is it possible that the system info page would report safe_mode = Off but it is actually set On by a .htaccess file?

Suddenly I too am not able to change permissions of forums in CBB,

safe_mode - Off

I am in the admin group and I don't seem to have any other problems, well that I know of, just found out I had this problem today.

Anyone have any ideas at all?

Sorry, you don't have the permission to access this area Then it goes back to the Home page.

I can create a new forum, I can delete a forum, but I can't adjust the permissions on the older forums or a newly created forum. I tried another browser, I checked the DB for any errors.

I can't think of what else to check, I just don't get it.

Was moderate rights added for your group?
Check also the permission template, which determine the permissions for a newly created forum.
