I am having trouble with the php mail set up as the server appears to be rejecting the mail sent to new users.

It also does not seem to have altered the email address as it appears in the preferences, but is still using the previous email address (that I thought was the issue), why is that

message is:
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

xxx@xxxxxxxxx.com
Mail sent by user nobody being discarded due to sender restrictions in WHM-Tweak Settings

In Admin - preferences - system - mail setup use the credentials of an existant mail user in the FROM fields for the domain that has to send the mail (eg SMTP server).

this is a continuing problem for me and seems to have resulted in an addition to the admin>mailsetup form after adding smart profile module (since removed). I looked at a couple of my other sites and they do not have the same page. There is a small addition underneath the selection of the mail sender. How do i get rid of this?

in fact to get round this I need to edit the mail script so it doesn't show nobody, can anyone tell me how to do this.

I'm not sure but would it be this

class/mail/phpmailer/class.phpmailer.php

There is also a pretty comprehensive README in the directory as well, it may be helpful.

Thank you I edited the script at this point and added my email address, still dont know why it was not put in by the system prefs. But it works

well i edited the script and my test seemed to work, but the reality is users trying to log in or reclaim their passoword send mails that ned up being from "nobody"

Received: from nobody by wh4.work-space.net with local (Exim 4.69)
(envelope-from )
id 1KnCp7-0005Hp-Ls

so even though it has a return path and a sender envelope it still says received from nobody, can anyone explain why this is?

nobody is the username that Apache uses to execute its scripts like XOOPS.

I have the same mailserver Exim 4.69, but nobody is as you can see in the quotation not listed.
Perhaps it is because I use SMTP with email box account credentials in the mail preferences.
Otherwise it is maybe an option that your hoster can switch off.

I have tried every other setting and the server will not send my mail, my other sites are on the same server and have no problem
