A "radical" change isn't required but since the project identity (brand recognition) was "destroyed" by the last project manager, Mr Herko and Co.
Originally the project had blue, orange and withe colors.
Actually the logo refers most to something that has never see the day : xoopsphere. Such plastic aesthetic & reconstructive surgeon has turned XOOPS into a sort of genetic mutant (cloning himself ^^)
Maybe you should seriously consider to keep that door open to innovation and creativity - including layout and templates!
I like people more than machines or money. But that's me!
