Hi,

I've been searching the support forum for the last hour but haven't been able to find the answer to my problem.
I'm creating a new XOOPS site, accessible only for people from one company. One of the modules I'm installing is Newbb. Installation goes okay, category and forum creation goes okay as well. After the forum creation, I have set the permissions so that the webmaster and moderators can do everything and registered users can view, post, access, etc. (basically everything except deleting posts).

The webmaster can login and access the forum, so can the moderators. Registered users however get a message saying they don't have permission to view the forum.

I'm running the latest XOOPS version (2.0.18.1) with Newbb version 3.08. Php is version 4.4.7 and MySQL is version 5.0.51

Check if permissions are set correctly in the default permission template, found in forum manager...

All permissions in default template are set correctly, checked that about a hundred times by now
Also applied the default permissions template to all the forums and categories.

Any other suggestions/ideas?

You don't have the right to access this forum

And after hour and hours of searching I finally found the answer to the problem:

I had set the default permissions template and applied that. The default permissions template however is only for the forums, not the categories. I have now set the permissions for the categories via the category access option and its working.

Sorry for wasting anyone's time

I'm having the same prob and have done all of the above. I have XOOPS 2.3.3 and newbb 4

NewBB 4.0 is for testing purposes. Use 3.08 on production sites.
