On Wordbook v1.16 the request a definition feature is causing spam. There is no permission feature to disallow anonymous users from making requests. I am assuming it is a robot doing it. I get hundreds of requests all at once asking for definitions for things like wfewqfewgrewg etc. It is very annoying and since they are all submitted in short periods of time they are clogging up my mail server. The whole purpose of the site is to let ANY visitor search the glossary, but only registered users can submit or request entries. However, since there is no permission to stop them anonymous spammers are ruining it.

I am using Lexikon version 0.5, heaps better than wordbook and imports all wordbook definitions etc.

PM your email and I will send it if you like ;o)

I installed Lexicon, and anonymous users can still request definitions, and there is no place to disallow it in this module's configuration section either.

1. Can users submit entries?

If set to 'Yes', users will have access to a submission form.*
Yes No
2. Can guests submit entries?

If set to 'Yes', guests will have access to a submission form.*
Yes No
3. allow requests of entries?

If set to 'Yes', guests and users will have access to a request form.*
Yes No

The "Yes No"s are radio buttons.

Don't they work?

What I am saying is: I want USERS to have access to a request form. I DO NOT want guests to have access to a request form. Those are the same configuration options Wordbook has. So with Lexicon I still have the same problem.

Why not turn it off and ask for submissions by email to yourself, or create a forum that people can use to request definitions. Then create a block at the top of the Lexikon module telling them how to request a definition with links to the forum and email contact form. Sometimes when something doesn't work exactly the way you want, you have to improvise lol!

The other way is to implement Captcha somehow, bit above my knowledge though, search the web for "DuGris Captcha" I don't understand how to implement it but you may find it a breeze ;o) You seem to be able to implement it in any and all "forms" that may be an option. Captcha can be a pain for the vision impaired though.
