Upgrade news from 1.4 to 1.56 problem

Okay. Moved all the files into the folder. Went into module admin and selected the upgrade tab. Message said it was okay.

Then ran the upgrade.php program, but it said I didn't have permission to access this area. It still says version 1.4 in the module listing. If I click on the info icon however, it says it's version 1.56.

What am I doing wrong?

You must be logged as an administrator to upgrade the module.
There are 2 texts files in the module, have you read them ?
