I'm wondering if anyone has developed away to modify the data contained in the registration process to add data like physical address and other admin defined fields... does anyone know an easy way to do this? I'm only slightly comfortable with MySQL, but enough that I could create the extra fields in the tables... but I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to get XOOPS to interact with it properly... I'm hoping someone has a mod for this...

This is what 2.2.5 has....adding additional fields, with admin for it......

Ah, I didn't know that... of course, I'm also deathly afraid of attempting an upgrade for fear of messing everything up! I'll read the docs and give it a shot, though.

Download a copy of WAMP….. change the php.ini upload limit, so you can import your full MySql… test the site upgrades correctly, at home first before touching the live site

Mike - although Wizanda has done some very good work with 2.2.5 - I would not recommend moving to 2.2 - as it will be a little while before 2.2 rejoins the main branch of 2.0->2.3

It could be worth looking at one of the modules to extent the profile side... Formulize I believe adds this feature, as does Mith's SmartProfile (which is largely based on his work in 2.2.5).

I'm sure other people can tell you of other modules that will do this task as well.

Only problem with Smartprofile is it doesn't have additional fields, i thought....formulize does yet with loads of extra bits needed....
David's right, yet really we want to build the support of additional fields into XOOPS soon anyway...
Sorry Mike, this makes it sound even more complicated, when it shouldn't have to be....

Well, I'll keep my eye on it... I guess for now I'll just create a separate table altogether that I store that data in... I just wanted it all to be part of the same table, but it is what it is, I guess...

This is by far the best CMS I've ever used... gotta take the bad with the good, right?
