This is my first post, and I am so glad to have found this Community.
Just finish installing XOOPS and I am glad to say that I have had no problems.

The first two modules I would like to install, are news and a forum, I have looked at all the forums listed in the Module Repository, however I don't like any.

However this forum on this site is very cool, I was wondering if anyone knows the name and if it is available as a module to download?

This site use newbb, but you must use cbb.
Another interesting option is Newbbex http://xoops.instant-zero.com/

I have downloaded cbb 2.32, it came with two folders (modules and themes), it didn't come with any installation instructions.

So, I am assuming that the modules folder content goes into xoops/modules, and the themes content goes into xoops/themes.

Is this correct?
Is there anything else that I need to do?

newbb and CBB is the same module.
CBB 3.08 is the latest stable version, CBB 4.0 is a new version under development

Many of us use the "Instant Zero" News module from http://xoops.instant-zero.com/. Current version is v1.55

I'd go with either CBB 3.08 or Newbbex for your Forums. As indicated by phppp, it's under active development, which is a good sign for any module.

You can get CBB 3.08 from the dev forge (don't forget the xoopseditors and Frameworks downloads too - they are essential). Newbbex is available from the Instant-Zero link above.
