Whoever that person is, they've registered at all my XOOPS sites as well. So far, I haven't seen any spam, but I keep a close watch and manually approve most content.

Same here, not only my own site but also sites designed by me (mm just wondering).

I've had similar usernames registered on two of my sites as well. Also using the name neoXXXcrus and ruitalXXXc where XXX is a varying 3 digit number.

I don't allow comments on my sites, so I'm not getting spammed as such. But I feel quite annoyed at hosting all these links to a bloody 'George Bush' website in the user profiles.

I believe it is not a human visitor but a piece of software that uses the characteristics of a XOOPS site to find its place of action.

I redirected a page from the News Module in php to another module (301)..... The old article is not visible for humans or search engines. Yet the spammer commented this article.

I can confirm that. With xoops.org there is this Spam also here.

Solution:
- Installation of the Modules Protector
- Add into the Registration the Capchta

Sato-San:
Is where can I find the Capchta hack/module? Your posting is the only mention of it on this site, and Google doesn't help either.

Well I use the protector module (although not the latest version) and it seems that it passes the protection. Another weird thing is that my stats program (non Xoops) doesn't detect any hits of the bots (I have checked the registered user ip address and searched it in my stats program, but couldn't find any entry)

Second, all of fake users run on different ip adresses (according to xoops)
