Hello nypd2,

This is the groups module in action. It's a good module, but nothing spectacular.

Let me know if you still need it.

This is one of those long awaited modules, which sadly never arrived.

Your best bet would be Hervs userpage module, that is the closet and he's willing to listen to suggestions.
Kind Regards.

I do recall seeing a module where you could select the group you wanted to join when you registered... (formulize perhaps?) - although this wouldnt create the new groups.. it would be a start towards it...

Re: Groups/ Meetups.com

FYI: Formulize + Reg Codes does allow users to create accounts and for those accounts to be automatically assigned to one or more pre-existing groups. But it does not allow users to arbitrarily create groups.

Creating groups wouldn't really be very useful in XOOPS, it might make more sense in other systems where content is automatically grouped according to whatever groups are defined. In XOOPS a group means nothing until an admin has actually assigned specific permissions and access rights to it. So even if users created their own groups, someone would have to also create the permissions and access rights for that group before anyone in it could even see anything in the site (unless they were also a member of another group).

ok guys... i have a software, wich is kinda You Tube. Actiolly it IS YouTube clone... it has /video/groups/friens/favorites/

Video requires a specific things added to your server (ffmpeg, mencoder) if you are on linux/unix server that means that you nead root access so to install those. If you dont have - viodeo is out of question.

BUT... what about the rest of the clone. ( i have full root and i managed to make video converting to work.)

Are there any programers who would participate in a project
whose purpose is to strip this YouTube clone and integrate is in XOOPS ?

reply if YES... if we manage to get enough ppl, we will start a project in dev.xoops.org

btw. a demo can be vied here:

I say I look forward to seeing your progress, let me know what you achieve, sounds like it could be promising.

I cannot get the Twig software to work as an XOOPS module. I can't even get it to work on it's own. At least not securely with any functionality.

The best idea I can come up with is integrating modified features of the Module Dev Forge code into Xoops.

Allow users to submit a group. Once approved they have their own group forum and features, and allow others to join. There are many of the features needed already integrated into the Module Dev Forge site....

Could this be done? Is the code available?
