hi there - i hope someone can help me.

I have changed webprovider and when trying to get oure site back up we encounter som problems.

Instead of the webpage we have a blank page. It is completely blank even when trying to see the source. We have uploadet the sql database and have all the files in the same position as before. Is there something speciel we need to do ????

We have no problem installing a fresh XOOPS site.

Hope someone can help cause we really want oure backup to work instead of starting over.

regards - kim

Your website address would help the XOOPS COMMUNITY GURU'S to trouble shoot the problem.

Both your new address and the old one please for comparison purposes.

Perhaps he/she forgot to adapt the mainfile.php? I would doubt that all settings were the same.

I'm not one of those but I have moved servers recently

htdkbno:
Have you amended the definitions for "xoops_root_path" and "xoops_url" in mainfile.php?

If you use the latest version of the Protector module (v3.x) you will also need to amend the "xoops_trust_path" in mainfile.php

The above are essential. Also, if these don't do the trick then the following might help:

I found it best, when restoring/rebuilding the database in phpmyadmin to use an uncompressed backup of the database rather than .zip or .gzip - I extracted the db from a .zip file onto my hard-drive and loaded that. Depends upon the size of your db, though.

It took me a while to get online on the new server because my new package didn't become "fully active" for about 48 hours after the account was opened.

I agree, in the meanwhile he/she may read this and do a checklist to see if they followed these procedure correctly.

How do I move my site from one server to another?

Why do I have a blank white page on my site?

Hi there

Link to site is: http://www.huntthemdown.dk

The website - is back to a temp html so there are no "new" site as such. The old were hosted local and we have just changed our dns back to that but that will first work within 24 hours the say.

Yes we have modified mainfiel.php and the settings were correct in the sql_access file as well.

If we dont compress our database it will fill 29 Mb which are 9 mb more that the allowed.
