Dear all, I met a problem when I tried to install XOOPS.

When I install XOOPS - > "General Settings", I got error messages

Warning: Undefined property: dbuname in /home1/home/www/pchkorg/html/install/class/settingmanager.php on line 175

Warning: Undefined property: dbpass in /home1/home/www/pchkorg/html/install/class/settingmanager.php on line 176

Warning: Undefined property: dbname in /home1/home/www/pchkorg/html/install/class/settingmanager.php on line 177

If I ignore the messages, a blank page will be shown after install completion. If I tried to go to web site main page, it will be a number of error messages.

I tried XOOPS 2.2/2.0 but I got same result.

Thanks for your kind help.

XOOPS version: 2.2/2.0
MySQL version: 3.23.58
PHP version: 4

I realized that it is no any problem if I install 2.0.13. However, the problem is persist if I use 2.2 or 2.0.14

What happens if you now upgrade to 2.0.16?

I was just getting to that very same point. It also looks like a failed upload. You can try to reupload the file before you do a full upgrade, just for kicks.

Some FTP proggies ill add extra line space, or just corrupt files on upload. A good indicator is the filename in your error report. 50/50 shot, but I've saved myself many a hassle from just reupping a file.

And yes, after you have some fun, just upgrade your version of XOOPS to the most current for security and compatibilty reasons.

Let us know if you need any further assistance.

More information after clarified with our web hosting service provider.

PHP 4.1.2
MySQL database 3.23

I tried to upload at least 3 times (2.2 and 2.0.14) but same result.

I quite sure that it would be version problem (2.0.13 is ok)

And I found that it is a great different in settingmanager.php in 2.0.13 and 2.2

You will find many differences between 2.2 and 2.0.13 - there was a completely different approach to the coding when 2.2 was begun.

I am still curious about the results if you upgrade your 2.0.13 to 2.0.16 - follow the steps in the readme using the full 2.0.16 release package.

Bad news!! I cannot upgrade my XOOPS site from 2.0.13 to 2.0.16

When I tried to access the page \\<my host>\xoopsupdate.php, a number of errors shown. After I pressed the "OK" button to update the XOOPS, a blank plage is shown.

Does anyone can tell me what's the problem? Thanks.

there is no xoopsupdate.php in the 2.0.16 package
do you follow the instructions for upgrade from 2.0.13 to 2.0.16?
also your MySQL version is the minimum required.

at the end turn on php debug for any blank page.
