xoops 2.0

I just installed a module called: AMS 2.41

something is squirrely with the install. When you view the module before install it shows the verion and module name but no icon. When I then install it, it is moved up to the "installed" modules area but I have a MODULE FILE FOR NOT FOUND! message. I cannot uninstall this then! I have tried to install it twice so I know have to "lost" module installs.

No I have not changed the name of the module
No I didn't change folders in the module

I simply tried to install this as I have done dozen of times with other modules in the past successfully.

Is there a way to manually un-install stubborn modules?

Thanks.
Shawn

This means you have got some rubbish in your /modules directory. The only thing that should be in there are the folders directly containing the module contents.

Sometimes modules are wrapped in several layers of folders that you don't need, so if you dump everything in there it will cause this error.

If you remove the offending files from the /modules directory, the error will vanish :)

Edit: Just noticed that there is a XOOPS FAQ on this issue, and they explained it better than me.
