The user guide for Framworks says:


<i>1 check the files xoops_version.php under /Frameworks/ and subfolder to make sure it is newer than your current ones</i>

What on earth does that mean?

I intend to install a brand new XOOPS 2.0.16. Then Protector, then Frameworks etc. But when uploading the Module, Xooops can't find it... I'm lost.

Frameworks is not a module and therefore you can't see it in the module administration.
If you want to check the version of the Frameworks you have to open the xoops_version.php file in a text editor:

define("XOOPS_FRAMEWORKS_VERSION", "1.10")


Version here is 1.10.

Frameworks is a collection of functions / routines mainly used by modules maintained and written by phpbb.
Examples of these modules are CBB, Article, Planet, Wordpress and the WYSIWYG editors collection 'xoopseditors'.

Aha - I see! Thank you, that explains a lot. The thing I should do is to verify wheter my version is at least 1.10?

Yes, just check if you have the latest version.
And hope the editors of the xoopseditor package will work, because there seem to be some problems with it....

The frameworks folder should go in the root directory, not the modules directory. No installation process other than uploading.
