Hi,

I installed the smartsection clone called knowledge, and now I get just an empty screen as soon as I enter the admin section of XOOPS. I get just this page contents:

DOCTYPE html PUBLIC '-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN' 'http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd'><html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
    <
head>
    <
meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" />
    <
meta http-equiv="content-language" content="en" />
    <
title>XOOPS Site Administrationtitle>
    <
script type="text/javascript" src="http://localhost/xoops-2.0.16/htdocs/include/xoops.js">script>
    <
link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="http://localhost/xoops-2.0.16/htdocs/xoops.css" /><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="http://localhost/xoops-2.0.16/htdocs/modules/system/style.css" />

So, I would like to uninstall the module by force, somehow...

How do I manually uninstall a module that is faulty?!?!

Delete it from the /modules folder

Then delete the tables in the DB.

Golly gosh! I don't have an answer but a suggestion while you wait for someone clever to come along - you might find what you need for by searching uninstall or remove module. I recall seeing posts (quite some time ago) from someone who deleted a module before uninstalling it - that at least might give you a clue. I tried a search myself and came to this one - here which suggests a drop of tables. ...maybe a google search will be more effective.

edit - will beat me! Thanks

FIRST OFF: make a backup of your database. Now as will suggested delete the module folder from your files and delete the tables in the database. If you made any group permissions for this module, they will also need changing or deleting. Likewise any blocks. I guess this will not be required as your first sight was a failed admin screen. If it goes 'belly up' reload the backup database and wait for further advice here.

It's also worth posting on http://www.smartfactory.ca as they may have some further local help for you.

Hi,

maybe also deleting record for the module from PREFIX_modules table. Check also the config table.

You can try first to set the value 'isactive' for that module in modules table to '0' and see if it will bring admin back, so you could uninstall it the usual way.
