Re: a Conjecture for others forums?

I have made Conjecture v2.01

that should work with SMF using a different database from XOOPS. I have tested it and the assign-forums-to-modules procedure works, but I seem to have some configuration problems on my server, because I get fatal errors when including smf_path/SSI.php due to something I cannot quite fathom. But I am also unable to log into SMF through the SMF/XOOPS bridge, so something else might be wrong.

Give it a spin and I hope it fans out well.

Considering the ssi.php
Sometime ago I've posted a question about this on xoops.org. Until now no solution has come up.
(was/is this the issue with you about the smf ssi.php ?)

Config wise, all looks well. I'll just need to test some, and figure out how it actually works.

Good project...I'm very interested in it but unfortunately I can't contributi actively because I can't program...but I see with pleasure that there are people like Mithrandir...

I also thought to use SMF separate from XOOPS and I tried converter from XOOPS to smf available on simplemachine.org....but I've a problem also in conversion...

This is the error:

Converting members... Successful.
Converting categories... Successful.
Converting boards... Unsuccessful!
This query:

SELECT
    forum_id
AS ID_BOARDcat_id AS ID_CAT,

SUBSTRING(forum_name1255) AS name,

SUBSTRING(forum_desc165534) AS descriptionforum_topics AS numTopics,
    IF(
forum_access 1'0,2', IF(forum_access 3'''0,-1,2')) AS memberGroups,

forum_posts AS numPosts
    FROM
`mydatabase`.myprefix_bb_forums
    LIMIT 0
500;

Caused the error:

Unknown column 'forum_access' in 'field list'

I tried from either cbb 1.16 and cbb 3.05 but results were the same!

Any advice?

I removed the forum_access line and did the settings for access of the boards afterwards by hand in the smf forum.

and...if i go on the modules menu while i'm trasfering the files to the server appears the conjecture menu but with the error of file not found...really strange

it's normal that there isn't any index file in the conjecture folder?
i have tryed to rename xoops_version.php to index.php and appears but with that error...and i can't install it anyway

the error:
Module File for conjecture Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!

Re: a Conjecture for others forums?

1) If there is no xoops_version.php in the module's folder, you will get a
Module File for conjecture Not Found!Module File for Not Found

error.

If you are in the process of uploading, xoops_version.php is most likely the last file to be uploaded (first sub-directories, then root files, and starting with x, xoops_version.php will be the last) so that is quite normal. Trying to install a module that is not fully uploaded to the server cannot be recommended.

2) Why would you rename xoops_version.php to index.php?

3) So the problem is that when you have fully uploaded the module, you assume that the file names are as they should be and do not rename them - then the module does not appear in the modules list of available modules to install?

Yes, that is weird - any PHP debug errors?

I am in quite considerable need of someone to test this and tell me if it actually works - as I said, my SMF-bridged module doesn't work as it should, but that may be a problem with SMF on my particular development server - I'm fighting a bit in the blind and I still don't know if this version 2.01 actually works with SMF.
