Hi,

Helpme out please!

I am trying to install XOOPS version 2.0.15.
Even my mainfile.php is write-able( after the welcome step, I got these cofirmations:

Directory uploads/ is writable.
Directory cache/ is writable.
Directory templates_c/ is writable.
File mainfile.php is writable.
No errors detected.

But after entering database configurations, and click next on the confirmation page, it displays and error:
"Saving configuration data..
Could not write into mainfile.php. Please check the file permission and try again."

My OS is windows XP pro.
MySQL server 5.0

I tried again and again still get the same error???

Any idea how to fix?
Thanks,
lphong

if this is an install on your windows environemnt make sure that mainfile 'properties' do not have 'read only' ticked. Find 'mainfile.php', click properties and untick 'read only'.

When installation is finished you have to go back and find it and tick read only again to stop the 'mainfile is writable' message.

I DID right click on that mainfile.php and unchecked read-only. But it still got the same error.
I did it many many times, even shut down computer and log back in after changeing the permission, but still got the same error. It's weird

I even went to DOS prompt to change it ( attrib command) , but still got the same error. The mainfile.php is writeable before I run index.php.( by the way, I set my virtual directory is xoops, so the way I started to run it via http://localhost/xoops/) I set on IIS this folder to be write-able ( I intended after finish the instalation I would set it back to read only), but it still got the same error: "Could not write into mainfile.php. Please check the file permission and try again."

u have to add the IUSR account permissions..

goto http://www.iis-resources.com

they have an whole section dealing with setting IIS up and xoops.

there's also lots of topics here regarding it, if you search..

Finally, I can install it successfully. The problem was that even its read-only field is unchecked, but when open security tab, not all usenames are allowed to changed this file. After granted permission for all users, I don't those err any more.
But I get another error on index.php:

"This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

You can provide the following information to the administrators of this site to help them solve the problem:

Error: MySQL extension not loaded
"

I guess may be my php server is missing something, don' you think?

Any idea?
