Re: cbb problems

Just so I knew I wasn't crazy I did a test last night my installing xampp on one of my xp pro boxes and set up a subdomain on my server. I did a new install of 2.0.15, frameworks, and cbb on both locations. I applied all of the fixes that have been suggested but the result was the same as my initial post. I get a blank page when accessing the permissions area and also when I try to create a new category.

I test XOOPS and modules, as always, on my local WAMP package, my freebsd+apache+PHP+mysql, my shared space from surpasshosting, with XOOPS 2.015, XOOPS 2.24
No problem to me.

If you have interest, try the WAMP package.
If it works, then it must be something with code compat, I am going to install your package; if it still not work, I would suggest to double check your procedure.

Thanks for listening phppp I will install WAMP as soon as I can and test it. I might have a chance to later today. If not I'll have to wait until after work.

Your 'register_globals' setting can have a bearing on whether XOOPS modules work properly. PHP 'safe_mode' too, although to a lesser degree. With PHP 5 the 'register_long_arrays' setting can be significant too.

You really need to know the CBB system requirements for these.

I build sites using XAMPP on Win XP/IIS but I found that the default error reporting setting in PHP.ini caused some PHP applications to fail that worked fine on Linux. Try changing:

error_reporting = E_ALL; display all errors, warnings and notices

to

error_reporting = E_COMPILE_ERROR|E_ERROR|E_CORE_ERROR

which just shows serious errors.
A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.

I reinstalled from scratch this morning. New directory, new database, only mod is CBB. Still get the white pages.

I sent a PM to phppp with site access info for a webmaster account on my test server.

Here's my battle plan for this week:

I'll install earlier versions of CBB (prior to 3.05) this evening to see if the white pages are reproducible. If I find a version without white pages, I'll iteratively install more recent versions until white pages appear.

I'll install WAMP to see if there is a subtle difference between the XAMPP and WAMP packages.

I'll install XOOPS 3.0.14 and the most recent CBB to see if this might be a problem with 3.0.15.

I'll install the most recent version of XAMPP since mine is several months old. I presume JimLunsford is using the latest version?

I'll check settings as noted in Peekay's response. Thanks Peekay.

My server is dual processor. I'll install XAMPP on a single processor machine and test.

I'm very open to suggestions to track this down. My 2.2.3 site works fine. While I'd like to move it to 2.0.15 so I can take advantage of recent developments, my main site is stable. This white page issue is now more of a personal mission than a necessity since I really can (impatiently) wait till 2.3/2.4 is released.

I'm still having an issue as well with cbb giving white pages when trying to view a topic or post. I also have a problem with Article 0.98 giving white pages on trying to create an article. The only common element between these two is the framework (that I know of) and I believe I'm doing something wrong with the adding of fckeditor.

Is the fckeditor supposed to be added to the XOOPS root /class and/or the frameworks/xoops22/class folder?

I have downloaded the latest frameworks and am using it on MySQL 5 server.
