Hi,

I looking for a module that gives the user the ability to download files very easily and smoothly, they have a list of all the files the can download NO categories or anything...Just a list the can click on any file on that list and the download should start.

Do you know any module that can do that???

Is such thing easy to do??

Please help,

thank you,

Why don't you just create a single category in the standard XOOPS download module and use that?

The users of download service want very simple download page, they don't want even one single category cause that is too confusing.

I assume you've checked out the available mods from this site

If they are no good then you are probably going to be stuck unless you want to hack the downloads or other module to your requirements.

Or - use any download module with categories.. and either hack the menu (or use multimenu) - so you link inside the first category

Sorry, documentation on developing XOOPS modules is very thin on the ground. Hacking is just that, you hack around with the code. Unless you are conversant with PHP programming, davidl2's suggestion is a good one.

I believe theres an entry in the FAQ on adding manual links to the main menu... alternatively - use one of the Menu modules (Multimenu or others...) to create a "features" menu for your users... with Download - and perhaps forum, etc listed...

The download link would not go to http://www.yoursitename.com/modules/download-module-name - but would go instead to:
http://www.yoursitename.com/modules/download-module-name/category-url
