Currenty i have all my site in the directory '/main'

is it possible to install it on the main directory so it simply reads www.pebble-designs.co.uk/index.php instead of www.pebble-designs.co.uk/main/index.php.

This is because i am having trouble setting up sitemaps which i cant do (newbie ) for some reason, when i do a simulator it just looks at the main instead of the directory

do you understand what i am saying?
any suggestions welcome

thanks people

I sorta understand and I sorta don't understand. But the answer to your directory question is "Yes". Instead of uploading your XOOPS version package files to public_html/main, you can upload the package to public_html
and install it there with no problems.
SiteMap issue: have you tried the XOOPS module for a sitemap?

You can pick up the SiteMap module 1.27a here:

the problem is the site is already up and running. to add it to google successfully i needed to create a sitemap. i found that it would be easier to change it to public_html. i didnt wanna do it straight away because all the files would be out of line (configuration etc)

I put a link to the SiteMap v 1.27a module in my earlier post to you. There are even instructs for you if you are submitting to google sitemaps. Which I think solves the earlier problem of an error msg.
