in the XOOPS description it talks about XOOPS as a blogging system - how do I activate that block?

I want moderators to be able to post, not only the top level admininstrator...

I didn't see it in the blocks menu. Do I have to get it from somewhere else? Write it myself?

Thanks,
elrohir

You'll need to install a suitable Blog module.

There are a number of Blogs about - but this is one of the best.

Ok... so I download it, and where do I put it next? I presume somewhere in the modules/ folder, but where after that? I guess it shouldn't go in system...

Thanks

I'd suggest you have a good look at the Docs, which you can find in the menu to the left - or here - on how to install modules.

It's no problem - but it's definately worth going through the docs, as some things take a little getting used to first.

ok... now this is weird. "Module file for wordpress not found"? looks like this.

I presume that there is a seperate file somewhere that tells XOOPS about wordpress, and that it is not in the right place.

From the zip, I uploaded the xoops-module-wordpress-204/modules/wordpress/ directory to make /site/modules/wordpress/ contain what was in it, and xoops-module-wordpress-204/Frameworks to the top folder of XOOPS.

There was nothing else specified in the readme. Is there a fixed loaction where this module file is located?

thanks
E.

Did you extract the file? Make sure you only uploaded the module? (not the whole folder). Check the permissions to see that they are set properly. You might also check This Post it helped me out.

Steve

PS: When responging to this I clipped a key (maybe enter). Not sure where the post went or if it did but I got the Thank You screen. Sorry if it's a double post.

Steve again

New users should always checkout the following:
1. Documentation - linked on the left. Specifically the administration manual
2. The FAQ section - linked on the left - specifically the sections on gloassry, beginners first steps, modules, blocks and themes. There are links to visual tutorials here.
3. The search function on the top right.
Please check also the read B4U post link below if you have problems.

For Visual tutorials please go here

These visual tutorials include one on module deployment.
