XOOPS Version: 2.0.13.2
Module Name/Version: MyAlbum-P V2.84
PHP Version: 4.3.11
MySQL Version: 4.1.21-standard
Web Server Software (Apache/IIS/Other): 1.3.36 (Unix)
Operating System: Linux
Theme you are using: lucastds01

A full description of the issue:

We are in the process of adding photos to our Photo Gallery and can not understand why some thumbnails appear in black/white or blue, while others appear in full colour. Photos are all in JPG format and taken by the same digital camera. If you click the thumbnails the larger photo appears in colour.

These photos were used on our previous website which we had to move due to the server going down.

The website is http://www.iffd.net/modules/myalbum/

We did not experience this problem on our old website and these are the same original photos we used in the old gallery. Any ideas as it's got me stumped!

Thank you!

Hi mate

Did you check if the GD library is installed on your server.

Almost all of color and distortion problems in thumbnaills are due that library.

Hope that helps

Keep that excellent job on firefighters brigade

Hey there, thanks for the quick response!

I have no idea about GD library. It's not something I had to worry about on the old server, I just installed MyAlbum and started posting!

So back to the admin panel as I did notice a "Package treating images" option and this is what I found.

"Almost PHP environment can use GD. But GD is functionally inferior than another 2 packages. You'd better use ImageMagick or NetPBM if you can."

I switched to ImageMagick and found all but 2 thumbnails were now in colour.

I then switched to NetPBM and now ALL thumbnails are in colour.

So thank you! I didn't think to try these options as we had it running on GD which is the default, so I just assumed it would work here too.

Lindy :)

You need to check the option 'Force GD2 Conversion' in prefs.
A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.
