I recommend installing the stand-alone version. You don't need a separate domain. In your root directory, you can create a folder and name it "phpads" and upload the files and run the installation (your.sitename.com/phpads/). My memory sometimes fails me, but I believe there are some issues running it on IIS, but you can check their website for the latest documentation.

I put my code in custom blocks so it can be done.

It is probally the why i have it installed that maybe why it is not working in blocks. I will re-do it and post the results.

Techno;
if !! the code is not working in the custom block.

try the second option.
Take the code (that you have generated) paste it in a new file, -save it somewhere, - preferable in the template_C, - give it a name , ei: my_right bock_phpadsnew.php

then in your custom block, you make an include_once(http://full_path_to_your file.php);
remember the absolute URL! (PHP! you save the custom block!)

REY! dont give up man! just install that thing on your local and play with it.

I'm using pan without any problem.

use Remote Invocation for frames when generating code for banner and use HTML when making block on XOOPS website

I agree that the PHPAdsNew setup instructions are a little confusing. If you followed them you will have set up an Advertiser, then a Campaign, then added a banner. It then explains how to set up a Publisher (website) and a zone (a location on a website). However, to get the banner that you have already created to show in your XOOPS site, you must go back and open:

Inventory/Advertisers & Campaigns.

Click the advertiser's name and select the 'Campaign Overview' tab.

Click on the campaign name and select the 'Linked Zones' tab.

Tick the checkboxes next to the website zone where you want the ads to appear.

As far as setting up custom blocks is concerned, you'll find an excellent article on using PHPAdsNew with XOOPS (with examples for both themes and blocks) on the ITIQ website.
A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.

Haven't had a chance to work on this for awhile but finally I got it going. I re-installed in the root of my XOOPS site and not as a module. I have a seperate db and I have sucessfully installed, setup and added banners to both the template header and a custom block.

The code modification is the article from it-hq.org was very helpful and what made the diffrence!!!
