I'm finding CBB frustrating to use. I'd like to switch over to phpBB. Is there anyway to export my users and messages over to phpBB?

2nd question, is there a way to display a phpBB forum within Xoops, like the CBB board?

Thanks :)

Searching also helps.
Heres an FAQ page on your second question. Now I don't know about your moveing your users over.

Can I use phpbb or IPB with xoops?

In the FAQ, it does say that CBB is a branch of phpbb so you might want to try a different forum all together. Try a search on google. SMF is a good one. But then I don't know how to use that one with XOOPS, probibly the same as the FAQ.

Hope this helps,
CC

CBB is a native XOOPS module.

Phpbb is a hacked 3rd party forum, which requires hacks for both XOOPS and the forum itself.

I would not advise downgrading to Phpbb.

Have you upgraded to the latest release of CBB (3.05)?

What problems are you having?

Can you provide further details?

I wasn't aware of the latest release of CBB, I will check it out today, thank you.

I'm just a hobbyist, my technical knowledge is limited :). I did do a search, checked several other boards, and either couldn't find exactly what I needed or wasn't able to comprehend it :).

Probably the biggest issue is the forums always show all posts as new to everyone, you can't mark them as read. Well you can, but it doesn't work. :(
