Hello

I don't suppose there is an answer to this but I will ask anyway.

I am trying to install XOOPS to a hosting company.

awardspace.com

I successfully uploaded the files for XOOPS and then browse to the url:

myspace.awardspace.com

When I run the installer I get various messages like this:

"Notice: Only variables should be assigned by reference in /home/www/myspace.awardspace.com/install/class/textsanitizer.php on line 86

Notice: Only variables should be assigned by reference in /home/www/myspace.awardspace.com/install/class/textsanitizer.php on line 86

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/www/myspace.awardspace.com/install/class/textsanitizer.php:86) in /home/www/myspace.awardspace.com/install/index.php on line 101
"

I assume that this is happening because they re-direct the url?

Can anyone offer any suggestions as to how this could be resolved or am I shooting in the dark!

Regards

Normally these messages do not prevent the assistant of installation of going until the end and the site will function

I have just the same problem.
I installed XOOPS 2.0.14 with no problem on my old hosting, but now as I'm moving my site to new hosting, when I tried to install it I got the same as yogiman.
Here are my new host specs:
Kernel version 2.6.16-1.2115_FC4smp
Machine Type i686
Apache version 1.3.36 (Unix)
PHP version 4.4.2
MySQL version 4.1.21-standard

Is it something wrong with my new host? is there any way I can fix it?
