How to install 1 module severral times in xoops system?

How can I install 1 module severral times in XOOPS system?
For example: When I install Content module to XOOPS first time, it work OK. But when I install it second time (I put the content of the folder in to another folder) it fail to install (error: the module already exit).
So how can I install the same module with difrent name like content1, content2, content3,....

essentially you must change all the variable names.

ie you must navigate through all of the files in that module and rename all of the module specific variables. Do not change variables that refer to files outside of the module.

The first time you do it, it is terrible. You get better at it though. Read the FAQ that Jen pointed out. It will help you. Ultimately however every module is different and you must trial and error your way through.

Likewise. There are other modules that do the exact same thing that the content module does check Here

Frankly, I'm not sure why one would want to clone Content. One of its advantages, from my viewpoint, is that you can have virtually an unlimited set of menu items and submenus, and you can add dozens of individual pages of content.

Why do you want to clone it?

I thought I wouldnt need to. However I have two levels of membership, one free (Registered) and one paid (Premium) using the Subscription module (still not working but closer). On my site, I want to have some items in MyLinks available to Registered and all items are available to Premium users. However in the Subscription module, the "access" control is done via XOOPS Groups, so this wont work using just one MyLinks or MyDownloads module. I'd have to "break up" the links/files/etc into to modules, one that only Premium users can access and one that both Registered and Premium users can access.

UNLESS.....

Is there a better way to contstruct this???

I'd appreciate any feedback as having a paid subscription has turned into a maintenance nightmare. aMember seems to be overkill (and I cant get them to verify if I can use one module and protect certain items in each module), and I'm struggling getting the Subscription module to work, and XAsset seems to be way too much functionality for what I need.

Dear khuhner,

I have exactly the same question for about 2 years now.
I really cannot understand why (almost) nobody (as it seems) needs a simple working subscription module, even if XOOPS is almost a perfect solution for clubs, unions, syndicates, associations, leagues,... and similar applications with paid (or not) membership.

I actually used to think this way too.

However, I have found that it is easier for some clients (and myself sometimes) to have the content split up in different sections for easy administration.

TinyD does a good job for cloning.
